About Us

Founder of Speech Matters, LLC, Lisa S. West, M.S., CCC-SLP understands the high demand at schools, hospitals, and other health care facilities for qualified speech-language pathologists and physical and occupational therapists within the state of Texas.

Earning her Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana Tech University and her Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University, Lisa has an extensive background and a great deal of knowledge within her field, which includes her CCC from ASHA. Combined with hands-on experience as an SLP, she not only has honed in on the dexterity of this discipline but has established favorable relationships and affiliations with various companies, organizations, and health care facilities.

Lisa has also worked in various settings, such as school systems, hospitals, and home health agencies. During her service as an SLP, she has worked with many children and adults and has seen them reach their goals through dedication and solid effort. Although she enjoys all aspects of her profession, the highest pleasure she has is from witnessing the accomplishments of her patients and behold their growth and newly-gained confidence. Being with them from the starting point, toiling along with them during the various exercises and lessons, and sharing the eventual triumph with them are what make her job worthwhile.

This is why Lisa founded Speech Matters. She wants to help as many people as possible, and the way to do that is by connecting facilities with qualified applicants, so that the maximum amount of adults and children can receive the help they need to achieve their personal goals.
